Anthropic's free Claude courses grew from 15 to 27

What changed

Anthropic's free Claude course library went from 15 courses in April to 27 today. They also moved to a new home, Claude Academy, and anthropic.com/learn now redirects there. Old Skilljar links still open. Finishing a course gives you a completion badge (4 courses give none), and Claude Code in Action was rewritten for people who already use Claude Code. Beginners should start with the new Claude Code 101.

Who should care

If you write, edit, design or manage clients, the beginner path is the useful part. It starts with Claude 101 (2.5 hr) and AI Fluency: Framework and Foundations (4 hr). The AI Fluency courses all teach the same four habits: Delegation, Description, Discernment and Diligence. There is also an AI Fluency for small businesses course if you run your own shop.

Who can skip

If you already use Claude every day and have no plans to build with the API, most of the catalog will feel slow. Do not try to take all 27. That adds up to 81.25 hours.

Open Claude 101 and press Start course. Sign in if you want your progress saved.
Work through the first section, Meet Claude, starting with "What is Claude?" and "Your first conversation with Claude".
Open claude.ai on the Free plan and give it one real task from your week, using what the lesson said about context and format.
Check the answer before it goes anywhere near a client.

What it costs

Every course is free. Practising a few is not. Introduction to Claude Cowork needs Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise, and the Claude Code courses need Claude Code, which is not on the Free plan. Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month billed yearly ($200). The API and MCP courses need an Anthropic API key, billed per use (pricing). Claude.ai and the API both work in Pakistan, India, the UAE and Saudi Arabia (supported countries).

Honest limits

A badge is a record that you finished, and it will not land you a client on its own. The hours are Anthropic's estimates, so your pace may differ. The value comes from using each lesson on your own work the same day.
